The ZAR automatic box opener can open up to 900 boxes per hour using a side cut!

This new, automatic ZAR (timing belt drive) package opener is suitable for side cuts and is primarily designed for flat cardboard boxes, such as samples, maxi-letters made of cardboard, documents, etc. 

Optionally, the carton can be rotated using a subsequent 90° rotator so that two additional lateral cuts can be made at the next station, thereby separating the carton into two parts.

Package sizes

The ZAR package opener system can quickly and efficiently open packages measuring 160 x 140 x 50 mm (LxWxH) or larger from the side using a fixed blade, without damaging the contents. ZAR can be used for cartons up to a maximum size of 800 x 600 x 500 mm and can also be configured in various ways to meet different practical applications. ZAR can efficiently and automatically open up to 900 packages per hour.

Cost savings

The ZAR system is about three times as efficient as manual labor and also prevents injuries that cannot be ruled out when opening manually.

ZAR – M

The Model M is designed for cardboard boxes of uniform width and height. The longitudinal cut on the side is always made at the same height.

ZAR – H

In Model H, the width of the boxes is the same, but the height of the boxes may vary, and the longitudinal cut on the side can be made at different heights, depending on the height of the box.

ZAR – HW

With the HW model, the dimensions of the cartons can vary freely within the minimum and maximum limits. The size of each incoming carton is measured individually, the vertical straps are adjusted to the appropriate width, and the cutter is moved to the desired height.

Applications

The ZAR automatic package opener can be used in any industry that needs to open standardized packages and boxes in the receiving area or returns warehouse. Because the ZAR is equipped with movable cutting heads and corresponding sensors, it can also open non-standardized boxes, such as those encountered in chaotic returns processing. It can also easily open packages containing sensitive items, ranging from pharmaceutical products to high-quality textiles.
