The automatic package opener ZAR (toothed belt drive) is the big brother of BOS and has about 50 % more capacity, but no tape cuts.
ZAR is suitable for horizontal cuts.
For this purpose, the carton passes through the system, where there are knives on the right and left that cut open the carton as it passes through.
In station 1, the box is straightened and measured. In station 2, one or two cuts can be made simultaneously on the long sides of the box. If a third and fourth cut is to be made on the short sides of the carton, the carton is shifted 90° across after station 2 and passed by a third or fourth knife in station 3.
The system can therefore cut a cardboard lid completely, only three sides (hinge cut) or cut the sides and leave the corners (partial cut).
Here the cardboard is cut open at the top edge
The system is built to the appropriate size depending on the range of boxes.
Small cartons of approx. 160 x 140 x 50 mm (L x W x H) can be processed just as well as large cartons of 800 x 600 x 500 mm.
Our PUSH and FALK systems are available for smaller cartons.
ZAR processes cartons chaotically, i.e. different sizes without pre-sorting.
ZAR can open up to 900 packages per hour efficiently and automatically.
