The ZAR (toothed belt drive) automatic package opener is the bigger version of the BOS and has about 50% more capacity, but does not make tape cuts.
ZAR is suitable for horizontal cuts.
To do this, the cardboard box passes through the system, where there are blades on the right and left that cut into the box as it passes through.
At Station 1, the cardboard is aligned and measured. At Station 2, one or two cuts can be made simultaneously along the long side of the cardboard. If a third and fourth cut are to be made along the short sides of the cardboard, the cardboard is rotated 90 degrees after Station 2 and passed through a third or fourth blade at Station 3.
The system can therefore cut off a cardboard lid completely, cut only three sides (hinge cut), or cut the sides while leaving the corners intact (partial cut).
Here, the top edge of the box is cut open
The system is built to the appropriate size depending on the range of boxes.
This means that small boxes measuring approximately 160 x 140 x 50 mm (L x W x H) can be processed just as easily as large boxes measuring 800 x 600 x 500 mm.
Our PUSH and FALK systems are available for smaller boxes.
ZAR processes cartons in a mixed-size format, meaning it handles different sizes without pre-sorting.
ZAR can efficiently and automatically open up to 900 packages per hour.
